Barbecue thread (all welcome)

Bugger... did duck breasts on the new Bbq last night, they were insanely good, I was having so much fun, I didn't even think for a photo here.
Side dish of Rice Pilaf , cooking liquid was duck stock from the duck carcass, celery, carrots, with onion and garlic in brunoise..... damn tasty and super light slow cooked in the oven under parchment paper

No you don’t. To quote Drikko: No picture…. It didn’t happen.

With a largely Danish contingent in our house , we celebrate Christmas dinner on the evening of the 24th. This year we did bbq pork marinated with cilantro, garlic, green chilli, orange, lemon and lime juice and seasoned with Sichuan pepper and Maldon sea salt. We were too late top get pork with crackling. On the right are the baked peppers I did for the vegan... yup thats vegan cheese on top, looks more like a peice of uncooked pasta pretending to be cheese. they were great though, cauliflower, jasmin rice, cilantro, green chilli, fresh onion, garlic, lime leaves, toasted cashews and lime juice made the filling for the peppers.
We had traditional Danish sugar roasted baby potatoes, red cabbage , cucumber salad, etc to finish the table off.
Ikea bbq holding out well, Im pretty impressed.
Cold bbq pork and Branston pickle with cheddar and bbq sour dough for lunch the next day !

Blimey, everyone is having a go at me for being a lazy bastard. Fair enough. It's true, I am, but the sewer repair is nearly sorted.

Actually, on the subject of sewers, chickens and barbecues, I remember walking past a street stall selling BBQ chicken in Kuala Lumpur about 20 years ago. They had a bed of hot coals in the BBQ with several chickens turning on a spit. There was a very tempting smell of smoky/spicy BBQ emanating from the place. I was hungry and thought about sampling some of their chicken, but had been warned about street stalls not having the best hygiene practices. As I continued walking I happened to look down a lane next to the food stall. The guy from the stall was plucking and washing a chicken in the gutter. The same gutter that outlet pipes from adjacent buildings discharged into. I don't know whether that drainage was sewerage, grey water or storm water, but it was a dirty colour and didn't smell too good. I was glad I'd heeded advice to avoid street food stalls.
