Weather where you are?

Just recorded the second wettest March - April- May in recorded history, twice normal moisture. Hardly find a day that isn't rainy windy or cold to go for a ride. Lots of people lost their houses to overland flooding or roads washed out so no access. Crops can't be planted in the flooded fields and likely many thousands of acres wont get planted. I guess the good news is my gas costs are down even though price is at an all time high....

Here in Central California it is fast approaching summer. It was 97f yesterday and may top 100f today. We are leaving the area for the next several years to travel the world: everything we own either sold, given away or put into storage. (I kept the RGS Executive) We are now living out of two bags each and fly to Guadeloupe on Tuesday on our way to Uruguay for their summer.
No more scorching heat, fire danger and smoke, just a bit of humidity!

No doubt you have to know what you are doing and treat it with respect. Helps if you grew up in a place that had snow coverage for six months in a year.

Indeed. I'd actually had prior training in the hazards of working in cold climates, but I still managed to get my ear frozen solid.
Frostbite sneaks up on you. I didn't know my ear was frozen until I bumped it against something and it made a "clink" noise like a piece of glass.

I naturally have cold ears and suffered a lot with chill blain in the 30 years of Aussie Sking, usually in horrible wet windy shit conditions we get 90% of the time, till I found my Baseball hat with built-in ear flaps. Made me look even more like a DORK than usual, worked so good as an ear warmer and on the rare as hell sunny days reduced the usually powerful sunburn on my ears and nose. Loved that hat

Well, I guess we're lucky in some ways ...at least we aren't allowed buy assault rifles and other general military hardware over the counter. Sorry - getting political - I retract all those comments.

Coming from the land of military weapons for all, what some people forget is that many feel the purpose of all these guns is to shoot or threaten to shoot any politician that they disagree with. Politicians terrified of their electorate is simply a fact of life in much of this unhappy land…… And the continuous deaths of children are just collateral damage.
At least they offer up “thoughts and prayers”, that should help, right?

38 C today in Palm Desert Ca warming up next week. For most of the morning today, I was up on the roof cleaning dust from the solar panels, the result of a major dust storm last week, and with very little hope of rain to clean them up.

Interesting roof you have there Dave, what sort of house is it?

Just had our panels cleaned as the output was dropping off.

Weather here is fine and sunny but cold and crispy. Supposed to be cloudy and wet as we are now in officially in winter. Meanwhile, the north of the state, supposedly in their dry season, is getting hammered with flooding rains. Go figure.
