eBay USA find - 1974 3C

Snap it up for 5, sink in another 5 and you'd still not have a 10K bike.

There's so much wrong with it from what can be seen in the pics, the internals are not going to be any better.

Prove me wrong...

Not sure a solid 3C could be had for 10.... 5k could be a good number assuming there are no internal maladies. Silicone gasket goo oozing from cam cover is a worry. That stuff has a habit of finding it's way into oil passages. Good project for someone who wants something different and doesn't mind sinking money and garage time into a ride that already looks great from a given distance.

Of course you can find a good 3 C for 10 k. One you go and see and test ride and drink an alcohol free beer with the seller.
Plenty out there not selling.
They all want orange Jotas because magazines talk about them and they won a local championship in the UK nearly half a century back.

Non speculative buyers often have enough knowledge to seek what looks and rides good to them. Personally would never go back to a Jota. Linear power delivery as Massimo and co. intended really only understood by those who had or have both. Like a V8 vs a turbo four. Both make similar hp, one needs to be 'on the boil'. Do not miss having to keep above 4,000 everywhere. Not a fan of orange, yellow or neon colours either. That's just me. I know I'm not unique. I would like to know of any nice non Jotas under 10 in the US...

What about an orange 3C with Jota bits? Should be good for 20 grand, no?

Surely the stick on chrome strip on the bottom of the tank will double it's appeal, if not it's value as well. If they had slotted the rear shock mounts like a velocette, then you would be on a winner!

Not just in the UK, Lennart Backstrom won the Swedish version on one too; and I don’t think they were the only successes either.
