A beautifully presented bike but I have to ask does this bike fall into the number range that had inner ball race main bearings on the crankshaft?
And I cant help but notice that it has an early 3C tank with a rearward opening petrol cap.

There is no mention of a crank rebuild amongst the records which look quite comprehensive being a 79 bike you definitely need to know or allow for a rebuild maybe at 15k there is a fair chance the faulty bearings ares still in there didn't the 79 bikes also have head issues?

Maurice, thanks for your obs, I never noticed the reversed petrol cap just took it for granted is the same as my previous lav. Old bikes always have a secret life of there own hey.

Moving to QLD soon, (covid delayed us badly and now visa and costs mean we have to keep a foothold in the UK) I have always been a bit disappointed at the lack of classic bikes there. Seen next to nothing in Brisbane.

Geoff, Maurice it seems you guys didn’t buy into the laverda strap line ‘built to say built’

Bike runs nicely. But I think I will have another go at adding a video of it running to the eBay posting.

Ian you will be welcomed and shocked when you get your feet on the ground in QLD at the powerful Laverda following in that state and right accros Aus.
Pity you can’t bring your Jota down it would have heaps of playmates
I have a 79 Jota and it’s one of my favourite bikes.
You will just have to get used to drinking icy cold beer.
