Paul LeClair newest project July 2023

Damn LeClair whats wrong with you !! A little more effort and that flusher could have loped
along in the Calgary Stampede parade with some cowboy hat hottie....

ps for virtually everyone outside of N. America the Calgary Stampede is a world renowned
celebration of cowboys and western culture....and features a now Guiness World record for
the number of pancakes (flapjacks, griddle cakes et al ) served to visitors. Yee Haa !

Don’t be too critical of the 400M. It’s origin bloodline is from the 351 Cleveland, and I can attest from a hot rod I built in my early 20’s that the Cleveland could easily be built into a fire breathing screamer. The 400M is basically a stroked version, and is capable of using Fords bulletproof C6 automatic which for sure you have.
Don’t bother hopping it up, IMO. Its combustion chamber is not that of a Cleveland head. This cars value believe it or not will be lessened if you start throwing blingy under hood stuff on it. Put anything other than a 390cfm Holley 4 barrel on it, will turn it into a literal gasoline vacuum.
My dad had one of these, gosh they are nice on the highway!!!

Fuel injection would improve the fuel economy and drivability, but won’t do much for performance, not without a lot of internal work. You don’t want to build a Boss 302, you just want the best land yacht you can get. I wonder if you could find sway bars front and rear and better shocks too? Larger diameter rims with lower profile tires will reduce sidewall flex.

We hired one of those in Phoenix Arizona years ago and drove the the Mexican border for a beer.
Came out of the bar after a few to find all four hubcaps missing! Enough spare room under the hood to store a spare engine.

I love it, having recently sold my 10 year owned Chevvy C2500 crew cab, long bed, pick up I am already missing it, and even a bit jelous of you Paul, good luck with it.
CLEM

Hantavirus, pneumoconiosis, I was already absolutely paranoid about knowing the car had been in a dirt floor Quonset hut for 6 years. I have not gotten into the car without wearing a heavy duty filtration mask. The ventilation system and ducting is coming out as is the blower motor etc.. Then everything is going to be sanitized and/or replaced, the entire interior is being cleaned with a Bissel Big Green carpet and upholstery machine using appropriate heavy duty cleaning agents, and then I am going to run an ozone generator in the closed car for at least 24 hours. Any other suggestions, i am listening carefully.

My dad had two of that style back in the day. One had the 460 engine, the other the 400. He loved to chain smoke cigars like crazy, especially in the car. Eventually certain functions of the dashboard malfunctioned. It has an exposed circuit board behind the guages providing power, lights and the signals to the guages. The cigar smoke had coated the circuit board with a greasy brown tar like substance. Never could get it to work properly.

Hi Henry

I have noticed 4 ash trays in the car so far, but no cup holders. Sign of those bygone times.....

I was not trying to compare Pauls car with my truck, just stating that I missed the truck and implying that another yank car might have to find its way here, his Caddy would have been ideal, being in the Uk, you dont see too many USA cars, I just love them and that stems from being in USA several times in the 70's and never since.

The ozone generator kills a LOT of germs and such. Very toxic. Always wondered if that would be a good way to murder someone ....... could they detect the cause of death?
