New guy

Hi Rymer440,
I will be in Phoenix from mid-October onwards. If there is anything you need that Wolfgang doesn't have, try OCTeam in Germany. I can bring small stuff (no crankshafts!!) over with me. I don't mind a ride over to SoCal, isn't so far away.
regards,
Steve

Since you're in SoCal, your local (?) best friend exists pretty much straight North
in B.C. Canada. Contact Wolfgang Haerter at Columbia Car and Cycle.

Thanks Steve —gone for four weeks now—-but will reconnect third week September—cheers

Good day to all—-
Close to first fire—-
Short of taking a valve inspection cap off and making a mess—-is there a better way to monitor oil circulation on wet sump SF2???

I’m use to watching return on dry sump English hardware—cheers

No.

Unless the bike has a million miles or the oil strainer is blocked, the pump is most likely working OK. Was this a running SF2 or has it been sitting for years? If it has been sitting, even here in dry Southern California, I have seen a number of 750's with rust in the camshaft area from condensation.

There are no dealers or suppliers of Laverda parts in the USA anymore. The closest source is Wolfgang in Canada. After that Europe is the only other option. If looking for a service manual, look on Ebay for the Laverda "green book". Unless you know how to work on bikes, a Laverda is a bad choice for an old bike as you are on your own with servicing it. I am also in So Cal.

Steve Allen of Bevel Heaven in Concord CA offers Dell Orto parts and servicing, along w/ some Ducati parts that carry over. DAM Classic Racing in Australia and Ducati Paddy in UK is another source for Laverda parts. I bought this 74 750SF a few months ago that I've been sorting out. Post a pic of yours-

Rymer440: Ever source a parts book ? I'm pretty sure I have at least one plus a "Green Book".
Let me know. I'm an ex-pat CA. guy (Encino). No riding yet but still great spring skiing !!!
Happy downhilling to you
Would like to run into you at Rock Store maybe one Saturday
Yes seeking green book

Also will be in your neck of the woods

Love to connect at The Rock Store....one day but awhile ago I moved to Vancouver and
then to the East Kootenay region of British Columbia. Regarding The Green Book should
be fairly available as the re-print has been out for a long time. Maybe try Motorbooks in
Burbank, always a great place to browse on Magnolia if memory serves.
