Laverda RGS Corsa - F67 RUU

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for approving my membership. I'm on something of a mission to find my dad's old RGS Corsa. He's recently become resident at a care home and his days of bike riding are over, but he still talks of 'the one that got away' with his RGS Corsa. Of the dozens of bikes he had over the years, this is the one he constantly talks about and his regret of selling it. He sold it from the Bradford area in the late 'noughties'. I used to 'borrow' it every now and then for our ride outs and it really was a bit of a beast, so we both have fond memories.

I and he would be really interested to know where F67 RUU is now if anyone can help.

Hi Adam I have it :) I bought it last year via Clem who was selling on behalf of a chap called Paul Mulholland both guys who have been in the owners club for years. Paul is unfortunatly is also in a care home due to horrible ongoing issues originally derived from Covid hence it being sold. It had been well used by a long list of owners so it is now undergoing a full front to back after I stripped it down. I would be happy to share some photos as it progresses if you and your dad would like? send me a PM and I can forward some to you. Cheers Owen

is that an alloy swing arm that I can spot?
that and the rear shocks look familiar. thr flap on the mudguard and the fork brace dont ring the same bells though.
OWEN STAFFORD check the reg number on yours

Yep one and the same Clem it had the mudflap brace and the same mirrors on it same indicators and the Corsa badges were still red (not sure why red? perhaps it’s ultra rare and worth a mint 😀) and the box section swing arm was still in place. So you did spot it correctly. Paul had changed the rear shocks when he had the suspension sorted. The exhausts were up the other way and as you know it had lost the floaters when it came to me.

I will be telling Paul Mullhollands son (Ryan) the story so far.

The very best of wishes to Adams dad.
His "old bike" will I am sure be a show winner and a very rideable bike, but the best thing that can be told to him, is that IT NEVER was neglected, it was always used until Paul Mullhollands confinement (he is the same BTW) it only stood about 3 years in a very dry and warm environment, before I sold it on his behalf to owen.
What would be interesting (Adam) is if your dad knows about the speedo change at around 45,000 kilometres and a used one being fitted for some reason which doesnt seem to have been a crash.

I’d feel gooder if Dex puts the front axle spindle on a level plane or in line with the forks when it goes back together 😏
I am pretty sure I'm right in saying that RGS's never had the little tommy bar, just had a hole. So that controversial topic can be neatly sidestepped... unless you get persnickety about the orientation of the hole (aero / downforce / cooling concerns?).

I recall the story of this being up for sale a little while back, it's nice to hear it's had a good outcome and the bike will be up and running again and even that the original / subsequent will hopefully even get to see it restored to it's former glory.

The hole should be set on a level plane, as if it had a Tommy bar fitted.
