Out and About on your Laverda. No bull,Just photos

It is a bit, Tom. Best not to go into the reason why.:ROFLMAO:

My pace was to aid my Daughter's getting some good shots, not a max attack run which might bring unwanted attention.

Regarding generator covers: There'll be a long queue, but my money's on this guy to be at the front:

Called in to see Ray Knight on Saturday and have a chat. I mentioned PK to which Ray said he was the only rider he couldn't get past round Corams, the long fast bend at Snetterton in the UK. Not only would PK be using up all the ground clearance he would be drifting the bike the whole way round and Ray said he wasn't willing to try and copy him. Respect!!

Last week, these roads were no place for a motorcycle, only vehicles with 4WD or snow chains. Striking what a difference a week can make, took the Jota America up HWY 74 over the Santa Rosa Mountains and down into the wine country around Temecula, Southern California.

Hoping you grabbed a few red wines on the way.

Now, then, this picture could be anywhere.

Clearly nowhere in Australia…. there’s only one small group of Chinese tourists 🙄

I was getting a vehicle registered last week, while sitting there working on my patience, looking around I swore I was in a departure lounge in Singapore.

I made the point to my counter staff girl, that if they (customers) all spoke a little bit of English, I wouldn’t have to wait 3.5 hours, and the she must have the paitience of a Saint 😡

She nodded her head big time, pointing to a microphone and displayed the shhh gesture. FFS the world has gone mad!

While the Vic Club were stopped at Hume Weir during the high Country Ride a minibus load of Chinese tourists arrived. They swarmed around the Laverdas, taking photos, chatting energitically to each other (men and women). One of us gestured to one of the ladies to straddle their Jota for photos. She was overjoyed. iI really made their day. She gestured her thanks and I replied with my only other word of Mandarin 'xiexie' (the first being 'nihao'). A few snaps later and off they went.

It made their day. It's this kind of engagement that is going to make the world a better place. Another person was about to straddle someone's bike without permission - and TTW quite rightly let them know that was a no-no.

Not sure how I'd go in China trying to register a vehicle in their language, Chris ... but it wouldn't be fun. Things change - new arrivals adjust - it just takes time.

Our local auto centre gave up doing vehicle registration and associated tasks like change of ownership largely due to the resource required to cater to people who have little or no English. And the bad attitudes. Full service is now 120km away.

18 counters at the one I went to.

There was no GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) on my caravans build tag.

The counter supervisor told me I had to take it to a weigh bridge to weight the van ….. when I said that would only give a tare weight, which is stamped on the tag. I said I wanted to talk to the manager, because the supervisor wasn’t making sense ….. none available.

Lots of phone calls by the supervisor, and eventually she asked if I’d be okay to an agreed GVM.

Yep …… suddenly the caravan was registered within 5 minutes, after 3.5 hours of frustration 😡

If I couldn’t speak English, I’d still be there.

What worked once for me was Stat Dec, I was missing some paperwork and that caused a FULL STOP till THE MANAGER suggested I fill a Stat Dec in. They don't care as long as YOU wear any future crap.

The 1976 Jayco Dove trailer camper van am renovating ( nearly there ) is now ( last week ) proudly registered as a boeing boat trailer with a 660kg Tare ( and a healthy 1150 GVM. The rego folk went with the only serial number on the books, by way of the Blue Slip operator, being a boeing boat trailer, not going to insure the van though would be a nightmare as described per the rego paper.

BTW any NSW knowledgeables, does a comprehensive vehicle insurance for damage include an attached trailer? Will check myself, others may know first up. j.

I looked into my box trailer years ago, shaky memory from NRMA trailer yes, what's in it no. But check with an email. Slippery suckers.
