1982 Jota for sale

Looks like a lovely example but I find it hard to disagree that it is priced somewhat optimistically. (Very appropriately the dealer on Ebay is called "dreamsonwheels17"). However, it has a good provenance and is remarkably low mileage if it can be verified, so somebody may be willing to go the extra mile to get what they perceive as "the best". Best of luck to'em.

I guess you get what you pay for - unknown histories and DPOs have proven that it's not difficult to lose a wheelbarrow full of dollars very quickly (not to mention suffer the extreme stress of trying to turn a pig with lipstick into something you would so dearly like to love!). Sure, not all of us have the moula, but like many things in life, if you can afford the luxury of reassurance, you will certainly have an easier life!! Can't doubt the provenance.

Its Bello Moto's, had it listed on SF Craiglist for about a year
Thanks for mentioning the name of that business, I'd never heard of them before but from the rather stylish website it looks like a very interesting business and the collaboration with the new Laverda Museum in Breganze is certainly a feather in their cap. Well done them. Having never visited them in San Francisco I can only go by the website but the general impression is that they are genuine enthusiasts as well as business people and that's all to the good for promotion of the Laverda marque.

Trying to sell Laverda motorcycles at ludicous prices is neither good business, nor good for the promotion of the defunct Laverda marque.

Those prices are too high even for Silicon Valley and they,ve been listed for months w no takers. They resorted to selling a silver 1200 for $1100 on BAT, and more will probably follow.

The market decides ... but rich people have the benefit of never having to compete with other interested parties or waiting for any reason before making any purchase. I've never been in that category and never will (and I'm never in the priority checkin at the airport). But good luck to those who are.

I was once connected to a shady business bloke for a short while. Vallay parking, Quantas Chamans Club for breakfast before the 6am Red Eye to Melbourne. It was an interesting once-in-a-lifetime experience, especially the part where the businessman announced on the flight that he used a different name in Melbourne. It wasn't exactly criminal, more unethical. Not my cup of tea.

Doesn't matter a bit. I have a roof and food.
Expensive bikes aren't ridden.
The only way to make the marque known, is to ride them.

In past years, folk with an eye for an "investment" were buying bikes with an eye to making more money than conventional financial instruments..the market now is sobering for those who have spent big money and want to sell but much more affordable for buyers and good for all the marques. Time to enjoy them in ten years many of us won't be riding
