Hi All,

I don't currently do these, but I have now had 2 enquiries for them.

They appear to be almost unobtanium. There is a set on Ebay, apparently the last one (sales ploy?!?), but it does not seem acceptable to me; they need an overlapping join on the lower rear corner of the tank stripes...

Further research has revealed that the Series 1 & 2 Jotas have different stripes.

I am minded to be recreating kits for both types. These will then be available in either black vinyl or paint masks.

Further expressions interest welcome!!

James

I cut exact stencils for my Jarama and painted them , series 1 stripes are originally painted on the earlier bikes and way different from the Vinyl stripes on the later bikes
series 1 is almost impossible to recreate in a vynik stripe with the S bend so tight over the compound curves, the series 2 got around this by stretching it out

If I was painting an either S1 or 2 myself or for a customer I would be using stencil/s and lining tape for sure.

Gloss black vinyl stripe kits are an option. Designed in the right way, cut to the right shape, c/w registration marks, they will be as close as possible to "idiot proof" to fit without any joins. Same kit will be available as paint masks...

I have some single-piece stripes obtained from WolfgangH years ago, used one set on a friends 81 Jota. I gave them to the painter along with strict instructions on how they were to sit and not to clear over them until I'd ok'd it but f course they came out totally wrong.
So he then refused to do the stripes said it was my problem. I used another set of the single piece ones but ended up having to cut them anyway.
Not the simplest thing to replicate these days, needs some experience which is not easy to come by anymore.
Ideally you need this bloke:
