Hi all,
Name is Eef and new here, thought it would be nice to introduce myself.
Being 63 years old and having my first SF2 at the age of 18 years old ( yep that is 45 years ago ).
Always had at least one 750 in my life till I was 55, but there were several.
Also made a side step to Ducati and had a few KTM enduros, including the famous 495.
Having a brother that had a Jota and a sister-in-law with a 500 that I both borrowed on a regular basis.
Fair to say I guess that Laverda played an important role and I enjoyed the Laverda's a lot in the past.
When I was 55, I came to the conclusion I did not enjoy motorcycle rides as much as I used to.
Especially in my immediate surroundings, a very busy urban area, and that I only still enjoyed it in the quieter areas far away.
That, combined with a less-than-pleasant personal situation, led me to decide 8 years ago to sell my last SF2.
But now I'm back with a Laverda after all; there is room in my life again for some motorcycle tinkering.
And after a few beers and some chatting with one of my best friends, the conclusion was that the Chott he had was a better fit for me.
He is also a big Laverda enthusiast, but his heart lies more with the twins and triples and to many projects going on.
The Chott was sitting idle in a corner at his place, partially restored but slowly being forgotten a bit because of the twins and triples.
So am I back to riding? , I don't know.
A license plate needs to be applied for and a license plate inspection must take place; that is going to be a challenge in any case.
However, quite a few things still need to be done to the motorcycle before it can be inspected and get back on the road.
Am I happy to have a Laverda in the garage again after all, HELLL YES.
For now, I am thoroughly enjoying tinkering and restoring the Chott.
But also plenty of questions about the Chott in the coming time, so you're going to see more posts from me.
First question
is there anybody that has the original toolkit that came with the Chott?
I have a drawing from the manual that gives a good impression, but I am still looking for a bit more detail.
Would love to see some detailed pictures for future searches.
I have already managed to get my hands on the missing Brema tank bag, now for the contents.
Yes, I know these are the least relevant parts to get it running, maybe that's exactly why it's fun to start with.
Second question: does anyone know what the 7 stands for in 250 2TR7?
Even though I have a 250 2T, I am still curious about this.
250 2 tempi regolarita, that is clear to me, but that 7.
