Just spotted Goodwood to celebrate Ducati's Centenary at their fest. Am I the only one on this blue orb
who understands those EyeTie craftsmen didn't build anything with wheels in 1926. Sure they built radio
stuff and razors et al but Cucciolo's were way in the distance. Marketing hype...I blame on that artificial
intelligence nonsense. I think Honda may find it's history revised to originating in America at this pace.

And Laverda did not produced any motorcycles in 1873. Of course someone can argue that Moto Laverda was found in 1949,
but isn't it that those groups had various corporations anyway, if it made sense in terms of local legislation.

True , but that`s nothing .........

BSA was formed in 1692 , when five leading Birmingham gunsmiths got together to manufacture 200 Snapchance muskets per month ........ but didn`t get round to producing their first motorcycle till 1910 ...... lazy sods ..............

You may not want to look too closely at what manufacturers of cars and bikes got up to before they started producing the vehicles we know and love today.

It wasn't just BSA that built weapons. Probably all bike and car manufacturers that were around during times of conflict would have played key roles in warfare by producing equipment to support their country's war effort. But if we were to hold a grudge against them for that, the world vehicle industry would come to a grinding halt.

Laverda may be one of the few exceptions. I don't think they were ever involved in producing military equipment.

They almost did, but Fiat secured the deal for a military vehicle...

There weren't enough wars.

Why would anyone hold a grudge in the first place ?

BSA , during WW2 , produced more armaments than the rest of the UK put together ....... it`s workforce putting in long hours to ensure the country had the weapons it needed to ensure it`s survival , often at dispersal locations dotted around the country , after the main factories were damaged in air raids during the blitz ........ these includied the Browning machine guns which were the main armament of the Hurricane and Spitfire fighter aircraft during the Battle of Britain ......... so no grudges held against them for that ............

It`s worth noting that at the same time the BSA workforce were working on a voluntary basis , BMW were employing slave labour sourced from the Nazi concentration camps .......... a fact they finally got around to apologising for back in 2016 , during their 100 birthday celebrations .......

So yes , as you rightly say , in some cases it may pay not to look too closely at those who produce the vehicles we " know and love " today ....... ..............

As an amusing aside .......... During WW2 BSA were busy manufacturing the Boys Gun ...... ( an anti-tank weapon ) .........

A question was raised in the House of Commons by an MP ... ( Mental Pygmy ? ) ...... demanding to know what the hell BSA thought they were doing producing " boys guns " when there was a war on .........

Some things never change .............
