REPLICA 1000 OWNERS’ MANUALS

Now available are these replica owners’ manuals. The original was from March 1977 so features a HKZ ignition system.

I went to some lengths to make sure this was as accurate reproduction as possible, even down to the weight and finish of the paper and laminated card cover. Excellent to keep with the bike – leave the valuable original at home.

A couple of comments from the ILOC forum;

‘Cheers Ted mine arrived today and was amazed at the quality looks 100% original to me.’

‘Quality of the repro looks better than the original!’

‘It’s a beautiful thing! Thanks Ted.’

Costs are as follows;

Within UK, including 2nd class signed for postage. £14.75

Within Europe, tracked and signed for. £20.95

Australia, New Zealand, tracked and signed for. £23.25

USA, Canada, rest of World, tracked and signed for. £22.35

Payment is simple by Paypal. Send a relevant payment direct to treasurer@iloc.co.uk, noting what the payment is for. Also send an email to Ted at regalia@iloc.co.uk advising of your purchase and confirm a delivery address.

If you need to pay by an alternative method then please let me know by email at regalia@iloc.co.uk.

I’ll despatch the manual and provide you with the tracking number so you know where it is.

Note that combining a purchase internationally makes savings pro rata. Two manuals delivered to one address in Europe would cost £33.15, or £16.58 each, making a saving of approximately 20%. Three manuals delivered to one address in Europe would cost £45.05, or £15.02 each, making a saving of 28%. Let me know by email before purchasing if you would like to buy more than one.

Yes, nice job. How did you do that? Is there some way to digitally remaster the scruffy old printed images?
Make sure you have plenty of spare time. Individually scan each page and edit each image one by one, removing all the patina and making sure all the print looks the same. Restore damaged images and copy if necessary - funnily enough the photograph took ages. Transfer to a publishing program, measuring precisely where to place each page as the original isn't consistent. Get it professionally printed. Absolutely not a commercial venture given the time it takes to do, but I do like old owners' manuals. I've started on a manual for the SF but 104 pages will take some time...
