I think values even for nice bikes are only going down as we age out and the next generations don't have interest in the vehicles we did. Laverdas have a pretty small following especially in North America.

If you can no longer ride and your not a collector or nostaligic then sell it for the price the market dictates. You will get enough to pay for hearing aids and erictile dysfunction pills.
 
Prices for Laverda's in North America I predict will continue to drop as the few that will work on them (Wolfgang is all that is left here?) pass away. You are buying a bike where you are on your own if it needs any work at all. Cylinder head or crankshaft problems, you are in big trouble unless you can send it to Red. Many people who have old bikes have no clue how to work on them. If you have a Triumph, BSA or Norton you don't need any mechanical skills as there are many shops in the USA that will work on the bike. Laverda, your screwed!

A friend of mine spent $120,000 on a perfectly restored Vincent Black Shadow a few years ago. It is the nicest Black Shadow I have even seen. When it has even minor problems he has no idea what to do and the bike now just sits collecting dust. I don't think he even knows how to change a spark plug.

nice looking 1200TS but not stock, its a series 11 alright, but the fairing is series 1. To be correct it should have a slightly different fairing but with cut outs on the lower edge to give clearance fro chrome indicators (CEV) on stalk, the rears should match, I'll stop there while I can still hobble to get me coat, call me picky if you like.

A value of a machine is strongly based on:

1) production rarity
2) race pedigree
3) Generally regarded great looking bike


There are other factors, but these 3 facts are needed.
The late Mirage TS was a handsome machine. The fairing is distinctly polarizing. The early ones, or the TS without fairing are better looking. The Mirage has no race pedigree.
Full stop.
 
The TS mirage never did it for me regarding the styling. That fairing and lower covers just look wrong to me. Also the seat cowling and side covers. The earlier 1200s were a handsome bike.
Anyway I ended up with a series one and just loved the motor. The Motodd frame sorted the rest of it out. With the help of Red it now goes like fuck.

Of course there’s no denying the Mirage has been used as a platform for competitive road racing. By race pedigree’ I mean a machine model that has achieved regional, national, or international success with ‘hardware’ to prove that success.
