1969 750GT #1950, seems mostly original with the exception of Sachs ignition, solid state regulator, bell mouths and a 2nd generation Laverda drum on the rear. Only some recent history including some work by Keith a few years ago. Recent work by myself includes replacement skf steering head and wheel bearings, fork seals, nos Bosch headlamp reflector, brake overhaul and careful set-up, modern blade fuse box, Falcon shocks, Craven carrier modified to fit properly and carrying Comet panniers, seat re-foamed with gel insert, Avon roadriders etc. all to have it in tip top reliable running order. Just back from a trouble free wet week in Ireland, 1100 miles and no probs at all.
Paint is ok, a few small scratches and minor dings. Chrome is good, some parts recently re-done. It’s a riders machine and on the button, looks great and goes great. Brakes are very good and it’s mechanically sound. That’s about all there is to it. As usual I get a bike up to scratch, have some fun then move on to the next lost cause.
The original crash bars and rear carrier are present and in good nick.
Struggling to find a true indicator of current value but £6750 feels about right.
Lots more pics and a cold start video available. Pics attached were taken today.
Bike is in Montrose, Scotland. Any questions just drop me a message ta.
Cheers
Bruce

Yes, lovely. I am starting restoration of a 1969 American Eagle #1688 and I'd be interested in seeing some details of how you mounted the Craven rack.

A beautiful example of original condition with appropriate upgrades to make it a very practical, useable bike.
Did buyer approach your asking price?
Some years ago one of the UK's primary parts suppliers told me when I visited with my GTL that I should forget the twins as people only wanted the orange 180 triples!
I have twins, triples, and Zane' bikes but my heart is with the Breganze twins.

The UK is slowly getting around to 750s though orange Jotas are still very fashionable largely helped by a press that needs to sell paper.
In 2001, riding up to the ILOC rally in Scotland, we stopped off at Slaters, 4 of us on 750s. He said that he'd never seen so many together which surprised us continentals used to seeing them tens at a time.

Hi Ebergman,
I have the bike now and have taken the panniers and racks off. It was a very neat and tidy setup but I have other bikes fitted with luggage.
I wanted this baby to be lean and graceful, nothing like me! She’s just for club runs and sunny days.
I’ll take some pics if you’d like them but it will be a week or two.

Hi Paul,
I know what you mean. I had a 120 Jota in the 80’s and loved it but I always hankered after a twin though, beautiful lines with no clutter.
I honestly can’t remember ever seeing a twin here in Scotland although there are bound to be some.
Very happy with this bike, at last!

You'll love it on the small Scots roads.
