1971 GT Custom - Love it or Hate it?

I saw this on faecebook ....... custom GT from Italy.

LAVERDA 750 GT YEAR 1971 "RIVIERA"
Manufactory : UNIQUECYCLEWORK - Mechanical Creations
Made in South West Italy.

Love: quality of work, paint and the exhaust is very nice

Hate: seat, front fender

On the bright side it has not been butchered so it isn't criminal.





 
Ambivalent..... would I buy it? No, and that's where all these bikes fail, they are too personal. I don't dislike it but it's someone else's dream.
 
It's been beaten around by someone's ugly stick, the headers are artful though. Mufflers less so. I love that tank shape, there is a beautiful bike somewhere in there. Just why do that.
 
Been hit with a hipster stick; get rid of the mandatory brown leather seat and replace with something you can actually sit on, replace the headers with something made by a bloke who knows how to us a pipe bender and lastly stick some decent tyres on that actually grip and you have a pretty decent bike. Oh yeah, stick on proper mud guards, the are there for a reason.

(all hipsters must hang ;) )

Luckily he built it for himself and not to satisfy all the armchair critics.
Only one who has to love it is the builder.
Hell of a lot of work to get it to rideable stage, not just sitting half finished in someone's garage like a static display :unsure:

Of course it's a custom, built to somebody's individual taste, got that.
But by trying to be something different it has become hipster mainstream, just more of the same.
Really looking forward to seeing something truely unique.
I do suffer from a bad case of TIC (Tongue in Cheek).
 
The only custom i know, which is kind of stylish is this ... (for shure everybody knows this one from the wrench monkeys)

Looks like the address to Bike EXIF was inadvertantly entered. What a mess....but at least no
heat tape wrapped exhaust pipes and Firestone replica Harley Davidson waay too wide tire.
Hope it comes with a new-gen green flake Davida pudding bowl for street cred enroute to
the nearest hipster coffee bar in Rome. However,the 330 GTC Ferrari looks good in ANY color.
