Unless I am mistaken this is an AE tank for the year '68/9, as is my #1303, wide frame. Several changes there after, rubbers, filler cap, rack...

OP is stating '72 GT.

Correct, AE tank as stated & you are correct, many tank changes w/ at least three 750 frame configurations. I don't have the 750 expertise/experience to know exactly which tank is needed w/o a pic.

I don’t have pictures of the tank by itself.

The original tank is at a welding shop. Lots of holes were found and I'm not sure it's salvageable.

I will get pictures uploaded tomorrow.

Looks like the first tank I posted w/ flip top cap.

If the front end is original, the bike is a "GTF" model given the Laverda SF style front brake in the pictures so it will need a fuel tank from that generation of GT model to fit the frame and seat and give enough clearance for the carbs.

While an AE era tank could be made to fit, better to look for one from a later bike.
