Hi Rob - The flame ring on original gasket needs this rebate to make sure that the rest of the gasket seals all over its area - have seen some visible gaps when this has happened - possibly using a used undamaged gasket may help  - but not recommended -  Regards - Phil

FFF!!! Guy in Perth who bored my barrels thought the liner had recesses into the head so decked the top of the barrels so now flush >:( Same guy did my head and that turned out to be a nightmare too.
So now what???

That is why all my nasty bits went to the wise man of the far north-east. No one I contacted in Perth had the knowledge. As soon as you mentioned "Laverda" they either went mute or you could hear the cogs whirring as they tried to drag out vague memories.

Send the bits to Red.

1200 barrels don't have spigots, but they do have recesses for the flame ring to sit in.
Or used to in Rob's case...  :o

Hi Rob - You can push out the liners and take off the 0.10mm from the flanges in a lathe  or if you have access to a milling machine and rotary table - they can be milled in situ - probably too expensive as a one off at a machine shop - probably best to send it to Red!!
Either job is fraught with potential f---k ups!! - Regards - Phil
