1974 750 SF2 garage find

Lads,

I've come across a fairly complete 750 that's sat in a garage for years awaiting restoration. Elderly owner has lost interest; I can have it for USD 500. I (think) I'm leaping at this. I'll be doing the work myself. Only have poor photos for now. It's fortuitous - just as I've completed the RGS, I've wanted another project.

Any input welcomed.

Thanks-

Kristian

I think you'd be taking advantage of the old bloke if you only gave him $500. Even if it's a non-runner it's gotta be worth more than that.

A local MC dealer picked it up, contacted me, and is passing it on to me -

Bloody hell - my input is that if you don't want it I'll buy it!! And happily pay to ship it to Oz.

$500 is as good as stealing it. Why would you even bother to ask us on here???!!!

Ha, sorry but no! Didn't ask if it's a good deal - just noting it as a piece of luck.

looks like it could become a rider with a bit of re-commissioning (new word that, and I don't like it) and a clean and polish, the old chap should have got five times that at least!
CLEM

If he is still alive it is always possible to get in touch and find out what he got and make amends in a way. It really is theft if he got well under the $500 from the dealer.

Very nice, doesn't look bad at all ,you can have that going in no time,I would search out the previous owner and show it to him after you get it running, and offer him something has it sounds like he just gave it to the dealer

Gold line twin nipple callipers?
not sure on that chrisk as it's got dust covers on, think gold line have them machined off.
Good find and i would not go chasing after him to pay over the top.

Don't worry, I won't. He's a successful man in complete control of his faculties; I will take the windfall gladly and without guilt. Weird sentiment, the idea that he should be offered more than he wanted. Neither he nor the mainline dealer couldn't care less about an old Laverda.
