1974 SFC

Smick bike. A tragedy the poor thing has virtually never been ridden, and probably unlikely to ever either. I find it odd that these sales pitch always have the history of the type of bike, do people who have no knowledge of them actually shell out big bucks from reading that spiel?
I had suffered a set of those rear shocks on my bike for a few years, the worst shit that ever was bolted to it.

Couldn't agree more - like some passer by on reading the spiel, thinks I've got a lazy $59k looking for a home, I think I'll buy that.  And I would be asking for a discount because the left hand shock is missing the black cap that sits on the reservoir - I've got a spare he can have for $100 :-)

I have a set of Symbols on my Pantah, it also was missing the black caps on the Resviours. Mine cracked and jumped ship. I spent years looking for replacements and eventually found a couple of Welsh Plugs that fitted ok and I silconed them on.
 
The first owner used it as his daily commuter to university for years.

Even back then it that speedo cable tight like piano wire...

Nice piccies... ::)

Another bike restorer that couldn't be arsed to correctly fit a (wrong) throttle grip.  Could have at least sourced a readily available Tomaselli rip-off, instead of fitting a cheap'n'tacky Oxford.  Dozens of inaccuracies and slops on this "magnificent example".

Only dozens? By the way ....... I agree with the grip ...... but why stop there? If you get rid of the signals and mirror and switch to a European type tail light ....... why not switch to a twin cable throttle, clip-ons and a Smiths tachometer? Then get some Ceriani shocks and correct brake reservoir caps ......... and so on and so on and so on.
