I bought a 1975 Laverda 750 GTL in boxes a few years ago. It's taken a while but I'm now putting it back together.
I got most things working except for one area, the front lights and indicators.
I've been looking at some of the wiring diagrams on the internet, mostly the ones produced by Carl allison (this old tractor) . However, the contents of my front headlight seem to be a lot more complex than shown in the diagrams for the 1970 and 68 models. Mine still has the Bosch dynamo and the Nippon Denso clocks. I've got rear lights and brake lights etc working, however the main thing that's puzzling me is that the black wires that go into the headlamp bulb plug are live, ie have 12v across them. These black wires appear (Number 31 on Carl's 1970 diagram) to connect to the earth terminal on the pilot light bulb and also to the earth inside the headlamp casing. As a result, because they are 'live', when I switch the indicators on, the whole indicator stem becomes live. The same wire ends up at terminal block no 20 on Carl's diagram and appears not to be commected to anything. On mine the black wire goes into the terminal block and another black wire exits. That wire is where the 12v is coming from. So, my question is, has anyone got a 1975 Laverda 750 wiring diagram, and if not, should I be looking at the internals of the switch gear to see if a live feed has shorted on to a non live terminal? Any suggestions gratefully received.
