1980 Laverda Jota(?) for sale in Connecticut

What's the blue sticker on the left fork? Why is the fuel tap pointing straight up, Forward for off, backward for reserve, and down for on. What does straight-up do? Levitation Mode?

Shish! 13000 Km on her - She's barely broken in.

I have no clue what the price these Laverda Mopeds are going for today !

Hi.

A nice original Jota, it can be super nice again, it's in better condition than mine when I bought mine, and after about 4 years it was back in super condition.

Just the right bike for another ‘collector’. 🤔
I just read the sales blabla.
I would have painted my Ferrari orange to match the bike. Why are people so scared of originality?

However, nice sales ploy letting the prospective buyer know that Laverda Jota owners are Ferrari kind of people.

Appears from the pics to be low milage pretty original and in nice shape. An appraiser of collector cars once told me you can often tell alot about a vehicle from the character of the owner. Pilots and doctors are often good owners in my experience.

If the bike has been sitting and not used (nice to know if it was stored properly and if it starts and runs) but still it may need some refresh of the brakes and carbs. Tires have already been mentioned...if too old they get hard. Also if still equipped with the original electronic ignition it is not the smoothest advance and something that is unusually replaced with a modern one...several good options are available.

These are very rare here in the states and as such it is probably "reasonably" priced. Most I've seen advertised recently have been in the 20K range. If your intention is to ride it and not hoard it away it will need some refreshing as mentioned above. If you're at all interested go see it soon. I'm not sure who's in your area that might lend an educated eye but you could check the IMOC, (Italian motorcycle owners club). Most of their members are here in New England and centered there in CT. I'm sure Steve Rossi could connect you with someone. If I were closer I'd be eager to give her a look but I'm in Maine. If I hadn't just purchased my RGS I'd be on the road tomorrow to check it out. Good luck and report back!
