Spent 2 days fanging the Motodd around the Collie Motoplex. What a fantastic track since they extended it, really nothing to winge about. Great camping facilities too.
All together managed 250km over the 2 days. Only time I had to reach into the tool box was the tighten the new 520 chain. Didn't use a drop of oil either.
Bike ran fantastic and never missed a beat. Scrubbed the tyres to the edge so plenty of cred next time I park at some biker gathering. Bounced off the rev limiter a couple of times, that's a first', had me worried the first time!!!
Was the only interesting bike there apart from an RG500 and the oldest, the rest being jap pocket rocket 600s and 1000 CBR, GSXR, and belt Duc 900ss set up as track bikes. Also a couple of Panigales, 675 triumphs and BM1000. Most interesting, besides my Motodd was the RG500 Suzuki Peter Senior was riding, those who were hanging in Perth in the 70s would recognize the name Peter Senior as he was the man to beat back then on TZ yamis etc.
Last session last lap got a clap from a couple of flag marshals, one later saying the Motodd was the best sounding bike on the days.
Going to be a regular event for me next year. Now enthusiastic to get the SFC out so I can start fanging that again with some sticky tyres

There was a photographer there over the 2 days at various locations around the track. He handed me his card, trouble is they're all on facebook available to purchase, but I don;t do facebook so haven't seen any. You'd remember Peter Senior? Loved his RG500 race bike.
If you do FuckFace look for Innesphotografix, John Innes.
I managed to run off the track a couple of times, once missed gear and found neutral so picked it up and went motocrossing and another through some esses, over cooked it and took the shortcut through the dirt again. Really impressed with the Collie track now that it's been extended.
Shits all over Wannaroo.

Def remember Peter Senior. Was THE man on that RG500 - until Kiwi Stuart Avant came to town - PS held on desperately for a lap, then he must have been wasted and let the very fast man go. He didn't look to be the fittest fella in the field!

I'll check out FB - everyone's missed a corner at the track on a Lav with a false neutral, Rob! :)

No club Dave, a commercial operation.
7 x 15min sessions per day.
Peter Senior and his son were riding the RG500 and some other jap sports bike.
Some young guy early 20s binned his F3 MV, only had it a week.
He looked shattered!!!!

Hi Bruce, yep Road Smart 4's. They performed very well at the pace I was riding. Plan to do a heap more track days next year so may fit something more stickier, maybe Bridgestone 014. Last Bridgestone I got 3000 kays out of it on the road, waste of money but on the track that's a different story. Great trip to Vicco for you and Paul, I live on the wrong side of the country!!!!

I'm hoping my Sportmax Q3s do the job at the Island. Hard middle and soft compound sides - on the road they seem to be holding up OK wear-wise and had awesome grip on the Jamieson run. One of the benefits of 17 inch rims ... more choice.

I have run Dunlup Q3+ tyres on my MV F3 800 for years now at track days. Very good choice.
