I think this may be a 3X RGA " Jota " ......... ( as it says on the attached note ) ........ with fairing by Sprint Manufacturing ................
The standard RGA had a normal fuel tank, not the RGS or RGS Corsa snorkel tube item .......... and a CX500 style headlight shroud and fly screen , and plastic padded shoulders ........... A cheapo RGS essentially ...............
3X presumably were not too enamoured with this ugly duckling ........... ( quack quack get out of here ) ............... hence the fitment of the Sprint fairing .............. ( you`re a very fine swan indeed ) ..................
I think some of these modded RGA`s were also known as RGA Jota Sprints ........ or whatever description 3X could dream up at the time ........ important to get the " Jota " bit in somewhere .... people would recognise / remember that particular name ..............
Bike magazine did a comparison test featuring a RGA Jota pitched agsainst a GPz 1100 ( I think ) , and something else ..... a sort of Laverda last stand against the new breed of Japanese mega bikes ........ The RGA Jota had fancy internals it seems , plus a three into one ..... " the only Italian bike that might still challenge the new breed of Japanese " , according to Bike .... ( this was 1984 or thereabouts ) ...........
No performance figures for the Laverda as it developed engine problems ( aka broke down ) ......... which was a shame , as according to Bike , " It was the only Italian bike which might still etc etc etc .... " ..........
