3 phase R/R with gen light wire

Elektronik Sachse have one:

Seems a bit pricey though!

I know this has been discussed before but does anyone know of the Electrex RR that takes 3 phase with a signal wire for the gen light?
I can only find the 2 phase unit.
Maurice - the RR51 is not suitable for a 3 phase alternator. It's intended for single phase/two coil arrangment like the Bosch setup on triples. AFAIK, Electrex don't make a 3 phase r/r with a charge warning light

RR51 will work with a light on a Lav as per Rob’s notes am using one on the Silver Jota but it doesn’t see Much work now does it… …however if you want the best then just spend the money and buy one of Rick’s mosfet then your charging issues are a thing of the past aka Cico and RGS . Just send him an email of what you want and bob’s your uncle

Here is the wiring up for a RR51 As you can see it will work with a Bosch set up aka Laverda unless you are wanting one for one of your other nonLaverda then if you are cant help you sorry we don’t talk Triumph here your poor sod owning one but now you are a double 120 owner all is forgiven you are slowly coming over to the dark side 😷

My 80 Jota had a working gen light till I had to change the regulator after it failed. That’s a very late series one Paul. Sorry you can’t always be right😂😂

The details nuisance here, have to decide what is actually being monitored to feed a "GEN" light, having worked on a Pantah early this year, the "GEN" light was a feel good light of modest real world value. Most of these "GEN" light output AC RR are really only a voltage threshold indicator, whereas the real fit for purpose GEN light was a cutout relay that indicated the battery was disconnected from the DC GENerator ie no charge current being feed to the battery, as such battery in deficit charge ( usually at idle or high external demand from the vehicle ).

Mentioned prior the real possibility of having an "ammeter" like old pomy cars and 1976 Mazda, fantastic for tech people, real world satisfaction as i motored along and the dash instruments had pointer needles moving all about, +60 -60 amps and i could see the charge current and the discharge when motor stopped and lights on or similar. Measuring Battery voltage is of use, though is no substitute for proper DC monitoring of battery charging/discharging current. Could ramble on for an age on this.... bottom line, voltage monitor is better than nothing though not nearly the feel good factor as an Ammeter can provide, HTH j

The gen light has a blue & red wire feeding into it. It leads back to a wire under the seat which, as per the manual description, is not connected. Connect this to the white wire from your R/R and it becomes ‘connected’: simples…
