3C front tire sizes

Ive had good experience with the avon roadriders both on road and track. Good grip levels wet and dry and when they did break away (on track) they did so predictably, so no real frighteners. Would recommend.

Same here. No problems. Nice "V" rated tire too. Rear tire still needs to be replaced at 5k miles/ 6k miles..like every rear tire I've ever used.

No splitting or cracks as others have experienced with the Avon...maybe a better UK made Avon sold here in the USA?

When i saw the split down the centre of my avon road rider, i was horrified.  Thoughts of barry sheene on the daytona banking.  What actually did cause the suzuki to lock the rear wheel at 170mph?  In an interview he says he pulled in the clutch , but it wasnt the engine seizing.  Did the tyre grow?  Was it an avon?  Did the rear wheel bearings seize?  Does anybody know what actually happened.  He doesnt talk about it in his book either.
