What I'm saying is, is the 3C in fact THE original and untainted Laverda Triple

Obviously the 3C is the original triple , after all it pre dated the Jota by 5 or 6 years, but the Jota isn't a bitza by any means, it's simply a 3C equipped with some factory endurance race parts and an exhaust developed by the UK importer. Roger's develoment on the original 3C had been done using factory parts, the factory had already been modifying bikes with these parts for their own racing progamme. What Roger did was to experiment with some exhaust configurations in conjunction with these parts. The parts became available because the factory had been using them with some success for their own activities.

Here's a nice pic of one of Slaters early wire wheeled 3C racers. The pilot is PK Davies*.
PS All this information has been printed in numerous books over the years, there's no ambiguity about the Jota and its origins...except perhaps on this forum!![]()

I see it gained a mile on it's round trip too.
New faces, new shroud on the revcounter, repainted shrouds, internals oiled or whatever they do to them. and new glass I think.
Hopefully I will get round to fitting them today.
They did let the side down previously so I wanted them to sort of be up to par with the new paintwork.
Same clocks as in the first picture. Used Max Mahlmeister in Germany.
He was not cheap but not the most expensive, and did a pretty good job (so far, haven't tried them yet).
English is not his strong point, but then again German isn't mine. We got by though!

Hi Bob..Was only jesting...The whole story of the development of the Jota is fantastic...and the bikes are true classics...The winter is long and tedious and the natives are getting bored and restless..hence the mischief !
