This is not my bike. It belongs to my mate Paul. He works in the shipping industry and is heading overseas tomorrow, so he asked me to advertise it on the forum for him while he's away. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with Paul and his wife. If it doesn't find a buyer on the Laverda forum by the time Paul gets home, it'll probably go on eBay or Gumtree.
Here's what Paul says about the bike:
We bought the bike, along with a Jota, from it’s original owner. He owned it for two years and was hit by a car when the bike was two years old. It has remained sitting in a shed ever since (45 years).
- It has 60,000 kms on the clock.
- All fins are intact on the engine.
- Borrani wheel front and back
- Engine and frame numbers are matching (#3274)
Faults that I can see are:-
- bent frame
- bent forks
- no speedo drive
- no chain guard
- middle cylinder inlet cam block missing
- right hand cylinder inlet manifold missing
- generator cover missing
- have not been able to turn engine
It’s a fairly big project but definitely has the potential to come back to life. We had hoped to do just that but realise that we have too many projects and my main aim will be to get the Jota up and running which I purchased from the same owner. The Jota has also been sitting for decades and needs lots of work. I don’t think I have two Laverda restorations in me, thus the reason for sale. My hope is that someone can save this bike and do it justice.
If I can realise $3,000 that would be great.
I’m away with work for the next 4-6 weeks. I will still be available through email contact, but out-of-range on the phone after Monday (3rd April)
Cheers
Paul
