3C Side Stand

We are putting the finishing touches to the Custom 3C we are building, and in need of a different side stand. With 1/4" longer rear (Race Tech) shocks, and Race Tech for springs - the bike is quite a lot higher than stock. We've already 'doctored' the centre stand - added 3/4" height, and modified the stops. Stock side stand works with a 2" x 4" under it -- but we hate the  'spring back' feature -- already having the bike fall over once because of it. I believe there is a 'retro fit' out there -- can anyone help please?

Weld a small post to the frame for one end of the spring so it goes over centre.
That will stop it self-retracting, but it's still flexy as it's sole fixing point is to the engine mount through bolt.
A far better proposition is for the Lawton/Bushman/Kawasaki system that mounts to the original footrest mount and the lower left engine mount point.

Bushman I believe is supplied by Jotajoe on here now/for some time, view membership list and pm him ,great guy.

The Bushman design works great as a sidestand but it usually interferes with the center stand tang. On my Jarama I moved the tang forward (up) to get clearance but lost the leverage so the centerstand is nigh impossible to use. A friend and I recently fitted one to his Mirage and figured out a fix. It requires a small plate added, with three holes, so that you can mount the Kawasaki sidestand a couple inches further back. Now it clears the centerstand tang and it's still quite stable.

Got the 3C running tonight --after many years sat idle/unwanted. She fired up first press of the button -- pretty magical!
Stock cams (but degreed, with cam sprockets modified) Red's carbs, Wolfgang's 3 into 1/coils, DMC and new charging coil fitted. Cool getting this far -- and she's ready to ride. Pretty happy in the shop tonight!https://www.facebook.com/westcoastracingvintage/
Anyone have a part number - or firm contact details for the Bushman stand? We are in Texas USA -- and local parts houses cringe, when  you call them -- and get the usual patter "What you working on today?"  --- they get very quiet when we tell them "A 1974 Laverda"
OK - joke over - and just looking for a side stand to suit this old lady - nominally  1-1/2" longer than stock

Hi Tony.

Im the culprit !

The brackets are made in stainless steel and ll the bolts spacer nut washers are supplied.

The bracket is now designed for left or right side gearchange, and either standard footrests or Jota rear sets. So if you decide to change things around at some point in the future you can.

My email is gotojoe123@aol.com
Tel 07875 299281.

Cheers !

Ok all - thanks for the help. Got the kit, and a stand - just got to get it fitted. But -- firstly got to replace the starter relay, that stuck yesterday - and fried itself - by the time we got the side panel off, and fuses pulled out. Got a post in the supplier section, asking if there is a 'parts house' alternative to the original type - but not had any replies. Anyone help/have a part number please? Brid.
