3c spark plugs

Hi all I have a laverda 3c which I've purchased new plugs for I've replaced the two outside ones but the centre is more troublesome .I can't seem to get on it even with a long reach box spanner .anyone have any ideas .Next step take the tank off

When you take the tank off make a note of the throttle/clutch cable routing, access to the mid plug is not possible without tank removal.

FWIW, hand start the new plugs, never use a retaining plug socket to start the plugs, perhaps some copper grease sparingly on the plug threads. Watch the choke cable assemblies, can get caught and pull into "shelfing" the bowden cable outer(s), ie the choke is open at maximum, engine starts real good, then behaves like a steam engine. NGK BP8ES are very reliable, low cost in box of 10. Hook up with other Laverda riders, few things in life are superior to a bunch of 180's on the cam.... HTH j

I took tank off then tried the exact plug spanner you suggested and hay presto got it out . I didn't realise middle plug is tilted to the left hand side . I was trying to come down straight on the plug

removing the tank on 180's is a piece of piss, that centre plug thread is vulnerable to getting cross threaded and I wouldnt remove the plug (at home), without giving the pocket a strong blast of compressed air anyway, I use a 3/8th very long extension and a plug socket with a rubber insert, the very long extension gives you a good line on getting the plug straight, and as iis says, (strong pint here John) get it well and truly started by hand before using mechanical leverage to tighten it, I use a sliding tommy bar.
