Yep.  Bosch used a very fine wrinkle, a lot smoother that what you'd find on an MG dashboard.  Should find the same finish on Beemer headlight shells of the period.

I finally dropped the headlight shell off at Robertos today, and he has 2 of wrinkle finishes. One is a course wrinkle like a dashboard he had, possibly MG, and like the wrinkle finish paint from a spray can, while the second is a very fine wrinkle that is almost like a satin black.

I'm assuming, based on the responses from 18mths ago, that it is the fine wrinkle that is the correct finish for a 78 3CL.

Am I correct?

More challenges coming for rivet-counters soon!
Malcolm Cox is making Laverda bolts and yellow nyloc's.

Yellow nylocs ,on early triples and late twins, and Laverda bolts I ve seen only on some twins, limited market for the effort.

I much prefer the gloss finish on the early 3Cs ,he was meant to be doing those as well......
