4 Laverda's for sale at Mecum's 2025 Las Vegas auction

Hi.
re: the SFC 750, there are several parts that are not original, plus I think the SFC mark on the lower crankcase looks new

And now there's a third one for sale;

The SFC is among a large group of bikes from one collection be be auctioned at Mecum LV.

This is the auction house's overview.

"ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Growing up in New Zealand in the 1950s and ‘60s, Bruce Milner was always obsessed with both cars and motorcycles, and attending car and motorcycle races was a big part of his life. New Zealand, at that time, had produced many famous Formula 1 drivers in McLaren, Hulme and Amon, while Kiwi motorcycle riders like Burt Munro, Barry Briggs, Ronnie Moore and Ivan Mauger were Milner’s heroes of the day. Another notable influence was the late John Britten. Milner attended high school with Britten, and in 2000, Milner came close to purchasing one of the 10 Britten VF 1000 bikes built. At $40,000, considered quite expensive at the time, Milner passed on the opportunity. Little did he know that if one of these coveted bikes were to sell today, it would likely be valued in the $750,000 to $1 million range.
Venturing to the U.K. and eventually to the U.S. some 50 years ago and having pursued a relatively successful career in the advertising business allowed Milner to pursue his car and motorcycle passion in earnest. Over the last 35 years, he has exhibited 12 collector cars at the Pebble Beach Concours and won the Best of Show title at The Quail, A Motoring Event, in 2017. Milner has also participated in many classic car rallies in both the U.S. and Europe.
Never an especially talented rider but always with a keen interest in exotic motorcycle design, Milner turned to motorcycle collecting in 2009, as something of an adjunct to his classic car collection.
As with cars, Milner focused on motorcycles he liked, not necessarily seeking out bikes for their expected appreciation. Consequently, his collection today covers a broad spectrum of countries, models and decades, from 1950s English race bikes to high-performance Japanese and Italian bikes of the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.
In essence, the collection covers everything from a Vincent Black Lightning replica to British race bikes such as his AJS 7R Boy Racer and Norton Manx; Italian bikes like his Laverda 750 SFC, MV Agusta 750S America Magni, early collectible Bimotas including a HB1 replica, SB2, DB1 SR and Tesi 1D SR, and a Ducati 900 SS and 916 SPS. From the Land of the Rising Sun are Milner’s Kawasaki Z1 900, Honda RC 30, Suzuki RG 500 Gamma and its matching contemporary, the Yamaha RZV 500R; and for good measure, there is also a Rickman Honda Z50 minibike decked out to look like one of Steve McQueen’s green Rickman Triumphs.
Now in his senior years and with a desire to reduce his motor vehicle collection, Milner will be offering his entire assemblage of 25 motorcycles at the 34th annual Mecum Las Vegas motorcycle auction. It is his hope that a new generation of enthusiasts will now embrace and enjoy these very special motorcycles.

if he'd gone ahead with the purchase of the Britten he could probably have forsaken all the others and still had more dough in his pocket from the sale of that one bike. (although there are some serious collectibles in amongst that lot - none of which I imagine will ever fire shots in anger ... much is the shame)

Wrecked and parted out a 350 Monaro on behalf of my brother once ...... no hindsight

are you bidding in person or online? From current prices I’ve seen I’d say $10k-$12k for it [assuming it’s in good shape).
A friend in Portland is selling a very nice silver RGS for $13k, no stories

Good morning: I've got my bidders pass and I'm going to attend. I hate to buy anything at auction w/o examining it. There is a lot of bitsa bikes out there which is why I asked about the Jarama.

I haven't had a Laverda in the garage since I sold my Jota. Is your friends RGS the one that was for sale a couple of years ago? I think it was in Idaho. Mike

I'd like to attend one someday. My friend's RGS is in pristine cosmetic and mechanical shape w/ a lot of work done to it by previous owner- he posted pics of it last year when he got it and then showed the extra work (rebuilt calipers/coated header pipes, etc). He had it on Portland CL for awhile- if you're interested give me your email or I can give you his
