need to run 180 rear slicks on our race bikes and our current 5" Marchesini rims from the Zane Laverda's are too narrow, only able to fit 160 rear slicks to them

anyone have any 5.5" Marchesini rims laying around that they would like to sell ?
came out on the later 750 Zanes I believe
we need 4 off them all told, set for each bike and two spares

may have to use Ducati ones as a last resort

Pirelli actually make no size recommendation for 5 inch rears - I see you're using SC slicks.
Here in NZ I've seen 180's on 5 inch rims with no problems.
Unless your regs prohibit it, I'd give a 180 on the existing rim a try and see what the profile looks like - and how the rider likes it.
i know your problem. One of the bikes I look after has a 4.5in rear - which really is limited to a 160. He can burn off the best of the tyre in four laps...

Would those be the 5 spoke wheels from the Formula that are 5.5" or are all the later wheels 5.5"? I have looked at ebay here and only some 3 spoke wheels but will try to find the width.

180! I'm guessing the Scorch frames accommodate moving the entire motor to the right to enable driveline clearance, Red?
No, we are machining new output shafts to move the front sprocket outboard and new billet sprocket covers that already have outrigger bearings in them
Doubt we will have them done for this race season

Good point Greg, had another look today at recommended rim sizes for 180 tyres, 5" will take a 180/60 tyre
I'll get a 180/60 mounted on one of our spare 5" rims and see what the profile looks like

The pair of rims I gave you included the wider rear, they were from a 650 Formula. I'm pretty sure it was the earlier 650's that had the wider wheel and from approx 668 onwards they went down half an inch. Maybe the wide was a 5.0 and the later bikes had 4.5's? But my recollection is that the Formula one was 5.5". If so then you should have at least one hanging around there somewhere. The Zane experts will be along shortly to enlighten us.

You’re right regarding 650 Sport (Kevlar) and Formula being fitted with the 5.5” rear rim. All the others had 5” including the 5 spoke (I just measured one to check).
The 650 Sport does get broken for bits from time-to-time but you have to be quick if you want the rear wheel, WP suspension or brakes.
Red, perhaps you can persuade an owner of a 650 Sport to swap wheels as they don’t really need the extra width.
As another alternative, I had a 668 that had been fitted with a bloody huge Triumph rim, but I can’t recall how accurate the chain alignment worked out.
