500 Space Frame

Looks like a great bike

Speaking of Motodd's whilst going through some old stuff today came across these in an album taken back in the day... must have been built for Paul as the stand is on the right side  8)

Its a race bike Lother, the backend looks like it is at a steep angle due to the paddock stand lifting the back end off the ground. Not the best of pictures I agree but for christ sake 'Streetfighter'  .

Andy
PS Its same bike as per my profile picture.

Hi Andy,

no intention to offend also you and looking at the other pics, I agree the angle the picture was taken does play into it. However, if you compare that particular picture with one of the following - don't you agree that without the fairing and with that weir angle, it looks a lot like a Streetfighter on that pic?

While the later uprated frames that have been posted here are certainly interesting - and an improvement on OE - the OP was interested in what could be done staying in period.
Kermit's bike - while nice, and light - would be ruled out of period in most Post Classic classes round the world on the frame layout. Without considering the forks and brakes.
Red's scorch spaceframes have a natural home in Aussie BEARS racing. IMO with an effort - and some reduction in braking and suspension performance - you could make one legal for Post Classic racing. But you'd be up against GSX1100's......

So far, the Harris and quasi Egli frames are the only ones I see that wouldn't raise eyebrows with a 500/600 engine.

I've built replica frames for various things and have suffered the penalties of eligibility committees. Often a bunch of ignorant etc etc....So hard data on dates for anything posted is most useful.

Like I said, they are tightening up something fierce here in Scandinavia, and the other countries are probably going the same way. The advice here is to do a lot of homework before putting money into it. Machine card applications now get sent to each of the Scando countries machine commitees before final approval.
