500 Timing chain blade and cam bucket shims?

Not aware of anyone supplying new cam chain blades, but AFAIK you can get replacement ‘rubbers’ to glue to the old blade. The guy who bought up Slaters’ stock may have shims or possibly Ralph at Motalia?

Andy J, what sort of glue would you use? I was looking up glues and could not purchase a small amount there were good glues but you had to buty a box of them at €150 +) of a glue that would withstand the heat and oil.

On the subject of the rear tensioner blade for the montjuic I got one just the other day from JLO in France. The attaching assembly needs to be swopped over from the old one. Would anybody have a recommendation on the type of rivet to use?

Hey anyone got a source re cam chains, for 50/650/Atlas etc. looking for 20 of the suckers
Feel free to PM
No point chucking in a new blade with an old chain Kind of like putting a Band-Aid on a major wound, it’s just not good and pretty sure it won’t cut the mustard
Thanks in advance 😂😎

Oh yeh re she’s ms precision shims here in oz albeit Vic can supply the very exact shim use ya all need
Way more better to work with new stuff IMHO but then again what would I know right just ask T??
You get my drift right

Sorry can’t help on the glue as not done it myself but aware others have managed to find some one to do it. Andy B might know.

thanks for the info. I got some from JLO. I have my montjuic engine ready to install. however I purchased a Spanish Alpino that hadn't been started in 30 years for mechanical interest, parts or whatever. I can get a registration number here (Ireland) for it provided it starts and moves. My attention is now focused on doing this.

"Andy Bell has, I believe a good selection of 500cc valve shims"

err? surely you mean Alan? you can do the grovelling.
