650 Sport oil level

Good afternoon,

I recently bought a 650 Sport. It is my first Laverda and I have a rather simple question. Do you check the oil level with cold or warm engine, and do you rest or thread the dipstick? At some point the engine got switched to one of the 668 Sport. Thanks in advance.

Check it with a cold engine and rest the dipstick on the top of the filler hole.
And it's certainly far from unusual to have the earlier engine swapped for a later one. I can't imagine why...
