'75 3C with tailpiece?

Hi,
Sorry to start multiple threads but I guess this is more technical / historical.  Looking at an Italian 3C engine and frame number 3006 with duck tail seat and Jarama style shocks.  Did they ever make such a beast?  Is there anything else out of place for a '75 bike?

I think I've seen another post about how hard it is to get a 3C seat these days, are there any alternatives such as fibreglass replicas? Whether this is factory fit or not, the bike I want has a plain seat  :D .

I'm assuming the carb rubbers will be shot and those downpipes are presumably painted due to rust.

... here it is:

Ciao, Gert

360 euros and with a copy seat cover and no alloy trim round the bottom.

Hi,

I'll ask Laverda Paradise for a photo of the other seat they list for the 3C if it is different.  What I'm seeing is quite different from the period adverts and so expensive I may be better spending the money on a custom build.  There's a guy down near Bradford UK who's got an eye for detail and the patience to listen.

Is there any chance they used the 3cl style seat with a plastic tail in 1975 on No 3006?

Is Gery's bike just too much for the money and well worth avoiding?  What else is wrong with it?  What do you think a 3c in this state might be worth in your preferred currency if it's running?

Thanks for all your help

Chris

Here are some options for a 3C.
You could also go for the SFC 750 single seat, or the 3CL dual seat or the Jota hump seat.
I think it's a pretty safe guess there were no 3Cs made at the factory with wire wheels and the tailpiece/lifting seat.
They did make at least one 3C with alloy wheels though.

Thanks Grant,
Looking at those, it may be better to go for a totally different but period looking seat rather than a poor copy.  Perhaps the SF seat is the most striking.

Personally I like the one in the middle on the silver bike.
It at least gives you an option if you want to carry a passenger/very close friend.  :D

Unless you're over 6' 6" the SF or 3c dual seat is possibly best as it holds you better and prevents you sliding backwards when you wind it on...

Haha,
6'4" with a 35.5" inseam, fairly symian so no problem with reach either so Laverda tick Harley cross.
