750 oil pumps

1200ts

I have heard Laverda increased the size of the 750 oil pump on later bikes? If so, will a later pump fit a 1968 750GT? And which model pump is recommended?

Hello, Bruce.

They increased the size from 6mm to 9mm for the SFC.
The bigger pumps you get today are aftermarket CNC-built items.
They fit all 750s Breganze twins and are 10mm.
I think nearly everyone who's business is Laverda sells them.
E.g www.octeam.de in Germany has them, but surely you'll find someone in your country.
Just ask for the 750s type. There are triple pumps, too.

can you install the triple type gears in a (Breganze) twin housing?
CLEM

Not only was the gear thickness altered, so were the number of teeth.  This in turn calls for a change of module and so the diameter will vary from one type to the other.  The later 9mm RGS pumps had coarser teeth than the early 7(?)mm types.

The 2 twin type gears, ie, 6 and 9mm width, are identical in diameter, tooth count and module.

AfaIk, the CNC aftermarket pumps available today all use the same gears, 10mm, at least those marketed by OCT, only the housing is then dedicated to twins or triples.
