I remember Ziggy being at the Island Classic the one time we took the 917 there with Drmsby. Absolutely good on him for being out there but for whatever reason was among the bottom order who were 45+ sec a lap off the pace. Drmsby had never experienced such a disparity a single category and said it was absolutely farken scary coming up on them in turn 1, 3 or hayshed. He'd gain 500m in a few seconds and had to decide which side to go past them from that far away and hope they didn't deviate. I was busy with my own thing so unfortunately didn't meet up with Ziggy or find whether he was having bike issues or what.
The bike looks great! It was beautifully presented and has some really interesting developments like what I presume is a small alternator somewhat like the '73 SFC's had. I'm sure it would be capable of far better than it showed that weekend. Sorry but twins are far better on a track than triples.

It's a good setup having the pickup direct onto the crank on the 750's, gets it away from any vaguearies of the oil pump drive and also just run a single coil wasted spark system. Also easier access to the clutch and primary drive. When Chris built the original replica it had a Dyna mounted on the RH end of the camshaft, later on a Krober magneto where the starter used to be, driven by a toothed belt from the crank. When I started campaigning it I set up an Ignitech with a single pickup direct on crank under the belt drive cover - probably pretty similar setup to what Ziggy had above.
