750 SF Frame finish

I’m getting ready to have the frame of my SF1 powder coated. I’m wondering if the original finish was gloss black or semi gloss, like the chassis black often seen on automobiles. My frame appears to have a semi gloss finish, but maybe that is down to how it was stored for the last 35 years. Thanks for your replies.
 
A good question that would be nice to have a definitive answer.
I had repairs done to my S frame followed by painting. I showed the painter what I wanted; after two returns and three paintings I still have an over-restored frame.
I hope a good qualitative answer appears in this thread.
 
Hello, the problem is that today's paints or clear paints are much more shiny than the paints of the 1970s. Many years ago I restored a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans, 1st series, in ice blue. The bike was burnt down in an accident, but the fairing was still in original paint. After some discussions with my painter and a few test paints, we decided to apply a silk-matt clear coat as the last layer. The result was fantastic. Many people have asked me why the paintwork is so well preserved - they thought the paintwork was still original.
I don't like old bikes when they're too glossy ...

If that Le Mans isn't shiny, what is it?

I bought a new 1000 tank recently and to be honest the original paint is pretty mediocre. All this glass like paint finishing on restorations is far too perfect.
