750 SF gas tank protector?

I’m familiar w the segmented sport bike type of protectors but looking for something that can wrap around the end of the tank while not being permanent and ruin the paint.
I’ve looked online but don’t see anything, so constructive input is welcomed, thanks.
 
Not sure if you can get this stuff in the US but I've been using it on my bikes for some time now.
Cut to required size and shape. Mould to component. Does not stick permanently which can be a pain but sounds like what you maybe after.
Not the best for tight 3D curves but works OK otherwise.
Tank/paint protection

Alternatively, in southwest USA, a lot of car dealers are now delivering with self-adhesive, clear plastic front wrap to protect paint against stone chips etc. Might be worth asking your local dealers whether that comes in rolls that you could buy a small length from or whether they buy kits already cut to shape for each model. My 2024 car came with lots of such pieces all over front, sides, mirrors, under door handles, etc. (Although perhaps better if they'd covered the windshield with several layers as that's the expensive bit when it gets a stone impact!!!! :cry:)
 
Consider having one made custom from leather . I did for one of my bikes and it looked great . Lasted for years and the paint still looked perfect underneath. Had to leave tank at the leather shop for a few days but it was well worth it . I think he charged me a couple hundred bucks.
 
You can buy paint protector foil (sometimes called film) in almost any colour, check online. It comes in a roll and you cut it to fit. I have used it to protect my tanks and seat cowls from abrasion from riding clothes and luggage. There is technique to fit it, as with anything when experts apply it it looks really easy, but doing it yourself the easy bit is getting bubbles and creases! Spraying slightly soapy water underneath when applying it is most important so you can squeegee out the water as it goes in place. Lots of videos on youtube. It removes very easily without damaging paint, as do patent "tank protector" gizmos, if you warm it a bit with a heat gun to loosen the glue.

I'll look into trying the 3M vinyl thats used for car "wraps", and I believe that a hair dryer can make the vinyl film conform to the tank. I'm 5'10", but its a fair reach to the bars, and my jacket rubs against the tank no matter how careful I am.
