Weird, on my screen they were part of the text block. But never mind. Forums, texts and the internet are terrible places to express yourself satirically. And yet, I often use it since it is the last resort of a weak mind.

I use a slightly larger resolution on my laptop, and it set the emoticons one line lower, and I blanked them out. I usually need a blow to my head to get most jokes these days.
