750 SF "Skulls"

Bit like my old Matchless G2 at 17 never did have third gear, had all the bearings replaced in the gearbox whilst my Uncle worked in the store supply at Hawker Sidley Aviation in Ham,Surrey, still no joy,but loved riding back from the Hand in Hand in Wimbledon with a headlight that only lit up the front mudguard and watching the volt meter go crazy,I thought it was the nearest thing to flying a Lancaster bomber.Going up to Russels at Clapham Junction to be served by men in brown overhauls are they still there?Happy days except the lack of third.

Before heli-coils, common practise in English alloy 2 strike heads seems to have been to insert a threaded bronze bush in the head and then apply a centre punch around the perimeter to ensure it didn't move.  Bush was threaded for the spark plug.
My bantams back in the 60's and 70's all had that trick and we believe the 50's James Commando trials bike dad has, was equipped with this mod in its first year of ownership.
