750 SF1 Battery

I need to get a new battery for my 750 SF1. The previous one was removed some time ago and disposed of and the bike laid up for a while, but now I have decided to recommission the bike.
I usually choose Tayna batteries as my supplier. Their website recommends a 30Ah battery and most of the choices on their website show a height dimension of 175mm to top of terminals. The gap between the frame rail and the battery tray is only 170mm, so I'm not sure these batteries will fit. See picture.
What size of battery do other users recommend. Is 30Ah overkill or necessary? I can't recall the capacity of the last battery but I am sure it was physically a lot smaller than the Tayna recommendations.

30 Ah unnecessary.

I too am favouring Tanya batteries as a supplier. For wet cell look at their ride-on mower range...
I have a Numax 24(?, could be 20 - 28) Ah in my Eagle, the previous of the same lasted 10 years.

My SF2 came w an Odyssey battery that has been holding a charge and always starts the bike immediately. But it's a bit tall and a close fit against the upper frame tubes. Personally I like the Shorai lithium for light weight and have used one in my Aprilias w no issues.

I like your hump seat design- can it accommodate a passenger or just solo?
 
18 to 20 ah is quite sufficient.
175mm high should leave quite a lot of space on top.
Use an AGM battery. Look up 1220 NH. 12v 20 ah.

I fitted a Motobatt MBTX20U battery in my SF3 9 years ago, also bought from Tayna. There's plenty of room for it and it starts very easily.
 
Thanks for all replies. I'll probably go with the Motobatt MBTX20U as mentioned by natm. I have used Motobatt AGM batteries in other bikes and always give good service. The 30Ah batteries that showed up under the Tayna search was what threw me. I'll still use Tayna as the supplier.

As for the hump seat as mentioned by TeddyG, not that good for pillion work, unless you like being very close and personal!

I found odyssey to be the best on my laverdas by far.
