750 SF1 project for sale - UK

Worth between £1000 and £1500 at the most.
If you want to make something of it, it would cost you £2000 at least over what you could sell it for.
Now it's in the UK, you couldn't even legally get it out of the country without a surcharge.

That is Marnix's ex 73 Bol d'Or machine.
The frame is somewhat specific since it's a drum brake frame converted to rear disc. It spent 20 years nice and cosy in my attic.
A lot of the rest is specific too.
An enormous amount of work and knowledge to build that from an SF1 :D

Itvink is a simple job
;)
12 mm main studs, different head machining to accommodate shorter rockers, different valve angle,
7mm valves probably
Single row cam chain isn't a big problem, H profile rods 1mm thick.
Cycle parts is simple, standard drum SFC frame with an add on for the rear master cylinder. 3 SFC rear discs might prove more elusive nowadays.
A lot of work.

You’re right Paul…and a load of other bits: very different camshaft, 7mm valves, tiny rockers on needle bearings, all aluminium head, unique prototype crank webs, pistons, unique C/R gearbox, hybrid frame combining aspects of the high drum and low disc brake frames, magnesium front hub with prototype Brembo discs, prototype rear pump etc etc, the list goes on and on..

Good luck with the build Peder! 😅

Is it a light effect or does that tank have deeper scolops for your knees? It looks way narrower at the seat end.

He sent me a pic of his wife's bike - looked stock save the forks, wheels and I think rear swingarm (converted to box - also for early Gixxer i think).

When i bought his rear hub he also offered me the SFC swingarm but i didn't need it. Wolfgang now has Larry's SFC so he knows it came with bits missing (or converted!). I enjoyed his forays into rivet counter sacrilege in the interests of improving the breed - a man after my own heart

Marnix also has Larry's SFC. One is therefore one of the many fake SFCs around.
I did tell Marnix to be wary.
