Hi!

sorry if you thought you would find an SF1 to buy for a good price... ::) Or may be yes?

I have an opportunity to buy an SF1 for 3.900?, I don't have much information about the bike as it is in continental Spain, I just have this photos, and the "owner" doesn't have it in front of him neither, as it is from a lot of a friend of him who passed away. A part from the photos, he knows that the bike was started and worked fine 20 years ago, passed the technic official inspection and then it was stopped until now.

What I see... Lemans 1 canopy? (not a big deal, a good spare for me), exhaust system crap, no front mudguard holder, no plate holder (have one in spare)...

(I know the seller, is a good man, he said what he knew and has same information as I do)

No, it's a SF0 (SF 72).
According to the number and the old exhaust system with the salamis.
And as it has been said, the first Laverda brakes.
Hard to see, but it'll have the 30 VHBs.

Yep, as Ernesto says, it's not an SF1 but a 72 model SF.

Much, much too expensive in view of what's missing or damaged if it's for restoration. Could be envisaged as a parts bike to sell off bit by bit after negotiating the price but it will be immobilising cash for years. Parts are not selling at the moment.

Ando of course, I am not looking for making bussines, just for full restoration as I did with the sf3, personal joy and another spoke bike in my little modest collection...
 
It is a nice project, but it's a ? 10 000 750 by the time it's finished unless the selling price is seriously knocked down.

1972 SF are plentiful, probably the biggest production run. I would imagine 6000 or so.

If you like 750s, go for an earlier one with Smiths clocks, 70-71. Much prettier.

Yes, we have to take wives into account.
If mine wasn't so worried about my/our budget, I would likely have bought a 150 Laverda/Garelli this week.

There are worse things in this world  ::)

Hi Miguel, I like the look of the 1972 SF very much, but it has to be original in every part. Very important to have the big eggshell BOSCH headlamp and Bosch switches and the correct exhaust system. The price of this project is too high!

I've been looking for another wife this last week, but no luck, it looks I am getting old and loosing properties, or maybe an unpleasant old oil odor and a black polisher face doesn't help, so I was looking for another bike and found this one just on my area, price is hopefully 7.000? he says 7.500?

He sells both seats and also a new lamp ring that is damaged. He is the second owner, friend of the first. No modifications, no restoration, he says it is 100%. 28.000km. I didn't see it personally as it is in a neighbour island.

What do you think??
