750 taco cables

I bought some cables from someone who was getting shot of his father’s stock, and although the parts numbers all matched up the tacho cables are different. See image. My bike, SF1 motor, has a spade where it fits to the drive on the head, but the one I bought is square, like the speedo drive or ND instrument end of cable. Were there some 750’s with square drive does anyone know, or is it that the cables I bought are from a triple. Thanks, Sean

The spade is a separate part that the square ended cable fits into.

I may have misread your issue, but I once poked around the fins on top of my triple with one of those small extendable magnets and found one of those 30mm long tacho extensions hidden deep down in the fins. I saw something move and, with some trouble, managed to fish it out. I had my spark plugs out and was lucky it didn't dislodge and fall in. I still cannot believe it actually happened. The crazy thing was mine wasn't missing, I have no idea how many decades it had been just sitting there.
