Sorry, more of my endless 750 questions-
Now that I've got the bike started, I'm hearing a slight 'ticking" sound emanating from near the battery and fuse box/regulator, when the ignition key is turned onto the middle position. Impending electrical doom?
Also, the small running light bulb is shot and has no marking- what brand/size is this please? Ditto for the headlight halogen- can these be purchased w/ an automotive equivalent?
Thank you all!

Sounds like electrical contacts - a relay? The reg? Chuck your multimeter on it and see if the clicking corresponds top any voltage changes. You need to determine that the charging system is operating correctly anyway. Electrical doom should be negated by correctly fitted fuses ;)

Globes are std fare - any H4 (halogen or LED), instruments are small bayonet type but LED replacements are probably available everywhere these days as well.

Thanks- it turns out it was the small Lucas flasher for the non-existent turn signals- I accidentally had a turn signal switched on.

I'll look for the small running bulb and LED headlight in an auto store.

Probably too far for you but these blokes have a great service. You could at least get some ideas as to what's available. My first attempt at an LED rear light from a car accessory shop failed in a day, no idea why. The ones from here have lasted a couple of years.
