After we, team of 3 demolished the No 4 Bolton and Watts steam engine, ex Whitbread Brewery, and a Centennial Gift to Australia from England and being rebuilt for the Bicentenary in 1988 it was approx 250 years old and hadn't run under steam in more than 100 years. The first thing that happened with the valve gear was it was fully submerged in corrugated iron tanks filled from 44 gal drums off WD40 for more than a year. It's been working and on display at The Power House Museum also a Bicenterary Project ever since and thankfully now not going to Parramatta. By far the most interesting job of my life.
