750SF - Chains Specifications

There are ways and ways - the thin wire is dead simple - like 2 minutes work - I have seen top covers where the stud holes actually hold the studs inward against the slots and they stud holes need to be very slightly elongated to allow the thin wire to increase the distance between studs (relates to inner four studs only, these are the only ones that carry oil to the spindles, rockers and cams).

it's easy to check if there is clearance for oil with the top cover partly on (beyond the threads, but not pushed down so you can't peek in).

Dead easy solution I stick with. Yes you could make channels for oil down the stud holes. On mine the top cover got jammed half way down the studs with the wire in place with the studs pressed hard inwards. I did this to check if the studs could have been blocking the oil channels. The eureka moment.

I'm close to change the timing chain in these days, and yes, actually I will check the studs and channels, for instance I had the impression the head was warmer on my last rides and a bit dry checking the clearance at the valve. Thanks for your suggestions (y)(y)(y). In the while I purchased the screws (fiat model). Soon pics for either the job or the disaster....
